Terri Langevin introduced our speaker, Chuck Wollack from the St. Louis River Experience, an organization that takes seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities on a pontoon boat ride on the St. Louis River. They start at the Riverside marina and offer rides from April to September. Last year they had 135 trips for more than 1,500 people. The pontoon is 30 foot long 14 passenger boat with cabin chairs and room for wheelchairs. Their volunteer tour guides wear chartreuse Tshirts and give commentary as they ride along. They travel between Fond du Lac and the Port Terminal. This is provided at no cost to passengers and is funded through sponsorships and donations. They are currently seeking help with a new $16,000 dock and a second pontoon for $29,000. We watched a video about the passengers personal experiences. A worthwhile activity!
